Far removed from ocean cruising, these vessels carry less than 200 guests and visit villages along beautifully scenic routes. Every stop is a relaxing experience, from wandering down cobblestone streets sampling regional delicacies to stepping into a shop for some handcrafted gifts to bring home.
Week-long itineraries include meandering down the Danube from Budapest to Nuremberg, then spending a few days in the beautiful city of Prague, or floating down the Rhone River from Lyon to Avignon taking in some of the breathtaking sights of some of France’s wine regions.
Several 10 to 12 day itineraries are available, including the Cities of Light tour beginning in Paris with a city tour, a scenic transfer to Luxembourg, then your river cruise to Nuremberg via the Rhine River. An optional extension in Prague is also available.
Extended itineraries include a 22 day journey from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam, then to Budapest. This Grand Rivers of Europe tour includes stops in Germany and Austria.
If you want to visit historical sites and explore how the people of a region really live, river cruising is an experience you should consider. We have DVD’s available for viewing, just give us a call and we would be happy to put one aside for you.
